Labour Party protesters urges NLC President Joe Ajaero to refrain from meddling in the affairs of the party

Some supporters of the Labour Party, LP, made a strong statement on Monday by protesting at the venue of the ongoing stakeholders meeting organized by the Political Commission of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC.

The meeting is taking place at the AGNL garden events and entertainment complex in Gudu, Abuja.

During the protest, the LP members urged NLC President Joe Ajaero to refrain from meddling in the affairs of the party.

They emphasized that Ajaero should prioritize combating the anti-people policies of the Federal Government rather than engaging in a conflict with the National Chairman of the party, Julius Abure.

Ajaero’s supporters accused him of plotting to take control of the party. The party’s crisis worsened last month, with LP founding fathers demanding Abure’s removal.

Abure was re-elected as chairman of the party at its National Convention in Awka last month.

The outcome of the convention exacerbated the party’s crisis, with the Board of Trustees announcing its takeover of the party’s affairs.
