Malami breaks silence on Magu

The Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, on Friday said that President Muhammadu Buhari approved the suspension of the Acting Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to pave way for the unhindered investigation by the Presidential Investigations Panel.

Malami, in a press statement issues by his media aide, Umar Gwandu, said the probe of Magu and the EFCC is covered by the Tribunals of Inquiry Act and other relevant laws.

President Buhari has also approved that the EFCC Director of Operations, Mohammed Umar would henceforth oversee the activities of the Commission pending the conclusion of the ongoing investigation and further directives in that regards,” the statement read.
