Army denies arrest of IPOB members

The Army and Police authorities have denied the arrest of members of the Indigenous People of Biafra.

Reports alleged that no fewer than 40 members of the group were arrested by the 14 Brigade Headquarters of the Nigerian Army on Friday at Ubakala junction in Umuahia South Local Government Area of the state on their way for the  burial of parents of Nnamdi  KANU.

The Commissioner of Police in Abia, Ene Okon denied arresting 40 persons but confirmed the arrest of four persons with guns in Umuahia around the busy Okpara Square through the efforts of its officers on duty in the area.

Okon said that there was nothing to identify the suspects as IPOB members, unless IPOB is claiming that they were their members.
