UK removes Nigeria from red list

Nigerians arriving in the United Kingdom with proof of vaccination will no longer need to go on isolation.

Latest reports indicate that the UK government has announced that Nigerians arriving in the UK from October 11, 2021, with proof of vaccination, will no longer need to self- isolate in the UK.

The UK government announced this on its official website on Thursday.

The UK government, while listing Nigeria as one of the countries with an approved proof of vaccination, wrote:

“Nigeria will be added to this list of countries and territories with approved proof of vaccination 4 am Monday 11 October.”

It, however, noted that any Nigerian who arrives in England before the date (October 11) must follow the rules for people who are not fully vaccinated.

The UK government added, “If you arrive after that, you can use a vaccine certificate to prove your vaccination status.”
