Popular American superstar and singer, Rihanna has revealed she is Nigerian and originally an Igbo woman.

The Barbadian Grammy award singer, actress, fashion designer, was recently pronounced a billionaire and officially one of the wealthiest female musicians in the world.

The star’s net worth is estimated at $1.7 billion while still receiving almost $1.4 billion from her beauty cosmetics line.

Rihanna’s other fortune comes from her lingerie company, which is worth another $270 million while not forgetting her branded earrings.

The billionaire star in a recent interview stated her mother disclosed her real origin to her as she noted she is primarily an Igbo woman.

She said: “My mom told me that I am originally an Igbo woman. Igbo is a tribe in Africa she told me .”

Rihanna is a pop singer known for her exotic songs. She is a Barbadian song writer and singer. Rihanna was born on February 20, 1988 in Saint Michael, Barbados and was raised in Bridgetown. She started her carrier in 2003 by recording demo tapes under the guidance of producer Evan Rogers.

Rihanna’s original name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty. Her father, Ronald Fenty is a warehouse supervisor of Barbadian and Irish descent. Her mother, Monica Braithwathe is a retired accountant. She belongs to the ancestry of Black Guyanese background. The couple has three kids, one Rihanna and two of his brothers Rorrey and Rajad Fenty. His father remained in relationship with other women as well before her marriage with Monica. Rihanna has one half brother and two half sisters as a result of his father’s previous relations.
