The Presidential Task force on COVID-19 has repeated its concern that Nigeria is not immune to a second wave of coronavirus, warning citizens to abide with safety protocols.
The Chairman of the PTF,Boss Mustapha said Nigerians are not coming out for testing even as many have abandoned safety instructions in large gatherings.
“Our testing rate is very unencouraging. Mauritius has the highest tests per million (218,535) while Nigeria stands at 3,605 per million. This is grossly too low to be at a comfortable stage of defeating the pandemic considering the size of our population”, said Mustapha.
He said the PTF is following reports from researches around the world regarding the state of psychiatric health of survivors of COVID-19 while plans have been intensified for in-country response under the treatment and post-treatment regimes.
