Nigeria beats Liberia in World Cup Qualifier


With a brace by Kelechi Iheanacho, Nigeria started its World Cup qualifier on a good note, beating Liberia 2-0 in Lagos.

Both goals were scored in the first half at the Teslim Balogun Stadium to put Nigeria at the top of Group C after one round of matches.

The other two teams in the group – Cape Verde and the Central African Republic – had earlier played out a stalemate in Douala, Cameroon.
