FG shifts Executive, Police Council meetings

The Federal Government has shelved Wednesday’s meeting of the Federal Executive Council.

Similarly, the Police Council meeting earlier scheduled for Thursday, May 27, 2021 has  been shifted to Thursday June 3, 2021 in honour of the memory of the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru and 10 other Senior Military Officers and Service men killed Friday in a plane crash.

Earlier, President Muhammadu Buhari had directed that the National Flag be flown at half-mast nationwide from 24 – 26 May, 2021 and declared Monday, 24 May, 2021, as work free-day for members of the Armed Forces.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha said President Buhari also urged all citizens  to use this period of mourning  to pray for the repose of the souls of the departed and strength for the families to bear the painful loss.
