The Presidential Task Force on Covid-19 has expressed concern on the attitude of Nigerians evacuated from abroad who fail to adhere to protocols attached to their return.
Chairman of the task force, Boss Mustapha said the progress being made could be jeopardised by those who violate instructions given by health officials.
“Nigerians have in recent days been served with different audio-visual clips by some of these returnees. The PTF is saddened by the conduct of some of the returnees who fail to adhere to the conditions attached to their quarantine.
“I strongly urge them to obey the rules in the facilities and also urge their friends and relations to recognize the contagious nature of the disease by desisting from visiting them. Complying is in the interest of the visiting relation and in the overall public interest,” Mustapha noted.
Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire said the country is getting to a significant milestone in the war against Coronavirus.
“We are looking at adjusting the national response strategy, especially on infection control, transportation of samples and training of manpower.
We have deployed PPE and other necessary supplies to address the needs of field officials,” the minister disclosed.
He announced 184 new cases across 26 states with six deaths. Nigeria has recorded 4971 cases with 154 fatalities.
