Army arrests soldier for selling ammunition, uniforms to bandits


The Nigerian Army has arrested a soldier with 1,000 rounds of ammunition, which he intended to sell to terrorists for N1million.


The soldier, serving at the Forward Operations Base in Galadi, Shinkafi, Zamfara State, had earlier sold ammunition and military uniforms to bandits in the State.

The suspect, who was identified as Bala Nura (19NA/78/3870), was reportedly arrested on Wednesday by the Military Police.

Sources said the soldier confessed to selling 100 rounds of 7.62mm special cache to the terrorists at the rate of N100,000.

He was also caught with 1,000 rounds of the same ammunition, which he intended to sell to the gunmen for N1million.
