Afghan president absconds as Talibans encircle Kabul

Afghan President, Ashraf Ghani has left the country as Taliban fighters encircle the capital, Kabul.

Al Jazeera reports that a new Afghan negotiating government will leave for Qatar soon as Talibans push for a peaceful transfer of power.

Meanwhile, Estonia and Norway have requested an urgent United Nations Council meeting on Afghanistan.

Reports said foreign countries are evacuating their nationals from Kabul even as United States President, Joe Biden scales up American troops  in Kabul to 4,000. Their mission is to protect US interest and nationals in the troubled country.
