In a move aligned with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, the Minister of Transportation, Said Alkali, has given the green light for the establishment of a railway station in Dambatta as part of the ongoing Kano-Maradi Rail project.

The confirmation of the approval came following a visit by a delegation representing the communities, led by former Managing Director of the Nigeria Ports Authority, Arch Aminu Dabo, to the Ministry of Transportation. Dabo expressed gratitude on behalf of the delegation, stating that the approved railway station is a significant development that will immensely benefit local communities and the broader region.

“We are deeply thankful to the Honorable Minister for this significant decision. The railway station in Dambatta will greatly benefit our local communities and the region as a whole,” he emphasized.

Hon Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari, the member representing Dambatta/Makoda Federal Constituency, who was part of the delegation, highlighted the importance of the approved railway station, stating that it aligns with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the government’s commitment to regional development.

The Kano-Maradi Rail project, recognized as a vital infrastructure initiative, is anticipated to enhance transportation and connectivity within the region. The inclusion of a railway station in Dambatta is expected to spur economic growth, improve transportation accessibility, and create new opportunities for trade and development in the area.

The delegation expressed gratitude to Deputy Senate President, Barau Jubrin, acknowledging his advocacy role that played a significant part in securing the approval of the railway station.

“Deputy Senate President Jubrin’s advocacy brought the needs and aspirations of our local communities to the attention of the Ministry of Transportation. His commitment to promoting essential infrastructure projects is remarkable,” noted Aminu Dabo.

This visit by the Dambatta and Makoda communities to the Ministry of Transportation highlights the positive outcomes of collaborative efforts between government officials and local representatives in addressing infrastructure needs and fostering regional progress.

The approved railway station stands as a testament to the government’s dedication to inclusive development and strategic infrastructure projects for the benefit of local communities.
