Security operatives are leaving nothing to chance as the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, gets set for the governorship election in Ondo State.
Security is water-tight with the presence of officers from the Nigeria Police and the Federal Road Safety Corps stationed both inside and outside the INEC office to maintain order.
In addition, the INEC has commenced the deployment of both regular and ad hoc staff to their respective Registration Area Centers, RACs. On Friday, vehicles transporting sensitive election materials, including ballot papers, ballot boxes, and Bimodal Voters Accreditation System machines, underwent thorough screening as they were sent to their designated RACs.

According to INEC senior official Mr. Adedayo Fakorede, sensitive materials arrived at Okitipupa on Thursday night, and the process of posting Supervisory Polling Officers, Assistant Polling Officers, and other staff to their respective centers was already underway. Fakorede assured that the deployment was aimed at ensuring the timely commencement of the election.
President Bola Tinubu has urged all political stakeholders and voters to uphold peace and fulfill their civic duties without fear. He expressed confidence that the election in Ondo would reflect the will of the people. The President also commended INEC for its preparations and applauded the deployment of security personnel to ensure a smooth and credible election.
Security agencies, including the police and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, were also present during the distribution of sensitive materials to all 18 Local Government Areas of the state.
