The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, Limited has announced surpassing its gas production target of 7.4 billion standard cubic feet per day well before year-end, with more than 60% of this output now commercialized.
The company also achieved crude oil production levels of 1.8 million barrels per day amid intensified efforts to combat pipeline vandalism and oil theft.
These milestones underscore NNPC’s commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s gas sector, improving domestic energy availability, and enhancing export potential.

Mr. Lawal Musa, NNPC’s Chief Production War Room Officer, highlighted these accomplishments during a briefing in Abuja, attributing them to the coordinated efforts of NNPC leadership, stakeholders, and security agencies.
Musa noted: “These achievements align with President Bola Tinubu’s mandate to elevate Nigeria’s crude oil production,” reflecting the government’s push for sustainable energy growth. Musa also serves as Senior Business Advisor to Malam Mele Kyari, NNPC’s Group Chief Executive Officer.
