The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun has reaffirmed the Federal Government’s dedication to attracting investments to Nigeria, aiming to boost the nation’s productivity and Gross Domestic Product, GDP.
Edun made these remarks while welcoming Dr. Doris Anite, the newly appointed Minister of State for Finance, at the ministry in Abuja on Monday.
Credible News report that Anite, previously the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, was reassigned to the Ministry of Finance in President Bola Tinubu’s recent cabinet reshuffle.
Edun highlighted that the Federal Government is currently implementing long-overdue reforms. “As we advance together to complete ongoing economic reforms, which are demonstrating sustainability and early signs of success, we now have a market-based foreign exchange rate for the first time in decades and market-determined pricing for petroleum products,” he stated.

“This marks a new era for the economy’s ability to attract investments, increase productivity, grow the GDP, create jobs, and reduce poverty,” he added.
Edun emphasized the president’s focus on consultation, collaboration, and teamwork, saying, “This is the foundation of our collective efforts, and we are confident you will integrate seamlessly. We wish you success and assure you of our full support. Feel free to express yourself, contribute, and excel.”
In response, Anite pledged to carry out the president’s Hope Agenda with dedication. “It has been a challenging year for you, especially since May 29 when the president assumed office and made that commitment. The responsibility then rested on you to guide the economy toward stability and prosperity.”
Anite expressed readiness to support Edun’s efforts to achieve the president’s mandate. “I am deeply grateful for this opportunity, which I do not take lightly,” she said, also thanking the president for entrusting her with the role as Minister of State for Finance.
