The Commissioner for Special Duties in Jigawa State, Auwalu Sankara has been suspended by the state government over allegations of having an affair with a married woman.
On Saturday, Bala Ibarahim, the Secretary to the State Government, in a statement disclosed that Governor Umar Namadi approved the immediate suspension of the commissioner pending investigations on the claims by the Kano State Hisbah.
Previously, the Kano State Hisbah Board had detained Sankara, who was reportedly found in an uncompleted building with a married woman.
“The suspension is a precautionary measure intended to facilitate a fair investigation.

“We take all allegations seriously and are dedicated to upholding the trust of Jigawa citizens in the government,” the statement stressed.
Dr. Abba Sufi, the Director General of the board, confirmed on Friday evening that Sankara was arrested with the married woman.
The SSG stated that the suspension of the commissioner was necessary for a comprehensive investigation into the pp, aiming to maintain transparency and uphold the integrity of the state’s administration.
He highlighted Governor Namadi’s dedication to accountability and the importance of ethical standards in governance.
