Fidelity Bank Plc, through its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative has donated maternity kits to pregnant women in the Aiyetoro area of Yaba Local Council Development Area, Lagos State.
The donation is part of the Fidelity Helping Hands Program, FHHP, which empowers the bank’s employees to identify community projects and raise funds for impactful causes. The bank’s management matches these contributions, amplifying their positive effect.
During a handover ceremony at Aiyetoro Primary Health Centre on Wright Street, Dr. Meksley Nwagboh, Fidelity Bank’s Divisional Head of Brand & Communications, presented the kits to the community. He emphasized the bank’s belief that “health is wealth,” noting that financial constraints often prevent women from accessing necessary ante-natal care, contributing to maternal mortality rates.

“Our goal is to encourage more women to attend their ante-natal appointments and reduce the barriers to safe childbirth,” said Dr. Nwagboh.
Dr. S.O. Oredein, Medical Officer of Health for Yaba LCDA, received the items on behalf of the beneficiaries, commending the bank for its ongoing commitment to the welfare of local communities.
One of the beneficiaries, Sekinat Aderoju, expressed gratitude, noting that the kits would ease her financial burden and help her prepare for a safe delivery saying: “We are truly grateful for Fidelity Bank’s support. Receiving these maternity kits will ease the financial burden and help us prepare for safe deliveries.”
