President Tinubu, who arrived in Beijing on Sunday, is set to engage in high-level discussions with Chinese leaders, including President Xi Jinping, and will participate in the FOCAC Summit from September 4 to 6.
The visit is expected to yield substantial benefits for Nigeria, particularly in terms of investments in infrastructure and technology development.
Nigeria’s participation in FOCAC, a platform established in 2000 to strengthen economic, political, and cultural ties between China and African nations, underscores the country’s central role in continental cooperation with China.
As the Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States ,ECOWAS, President Tinubu will represent the region in multilateral discussions, further solidifying Nigeria’s position as China’s number one trading partner in Africa.
