Court arraigns man for stealing mosque amplifier

 On Monday, a laborer named Abdullahi Garba, aged 36, was brought before a Sharia Court in Kano State on charges of allegedly stealing an amplifier valued at N80,000 from a mosque.

Garba, a resident of Kawon Lambu Hotoro, Nasarawa Local Government in Kano, faced charges of criminal trespass and theft.

Inspector Abdullahi Wada, the Prosecution Counsel, informed the court that the incident was reported on March 14 at the Hotoro Police Station by the complainant, Najib Hamisu, residing at Tishama Quarters, Hotoro. Wada explained that the defendant unlawfully entered the mosque and absconded with an amplifier valued at N80,000.

The defendant pleaded guilty to the charge. The Judge, Malam Umar Lawal-Abubakar, however, admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N40,000 with one reliable shorty, who was a blood relation.

Lawal-Abubakar adjourned the matter until April 23 for trial.
