Ooni of Ife, queen welcome twins

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and one of his queens, Olori Tobi, have joyfully welcomed twins.

The Ooni shared the heartwarming news on his verified Instagram account, announcing the birth of a prince and princess on Saturday. Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ọjájá II, CFR, born in 1974, is the 51st and current Ooni of Ife, reigning over the Yoruba kingdom of Ile-Ife. He ascended to the throne in 2015, succeeding the late Oba Okunade Sijuwade, the 50th Ooni of Ife.

In response to the birth of a prince and princess to the royal throne of Oduduwa, he expressed gratitude, saying, “To God be the glory, great things he has done. Hearty congratulations to the entire House of Oduduwa and Olori Tobiloba. Mother and children are doing well to the glory of God Almighty.”

Ooni Adeyeye Ogunwusi was selected from the Giesi ruling house of Ile-Ife, among indigenes who were also heirs to the throne, on October 26, 2015. He received his oath of office on December 7, 2015. Some sources describe him as a skilled entrepreneur who has the drive to overcome challenges.
