Grammy-nominated afrobeat sensation, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in Abuja.
David Adedeji Adeleke OON,born November 21, 1992, also known as Davido, is a Nigerian singer-songwriter and record producer.He is regarded as one of the most important Afrobeats artists of the twenty-first century, sharing credit with Burna Boy and Wizkid for popularizing the genre around the world.
Davido was raised in Lagos, Nigeria, after being born in Atlanta, United States. He made his musical debut with the group KB International. Davido studied business administration at Oakwood University before dropping out to focus on making beats and recording vocal references. He rose to fame after releasing “Dami Duro,” the second single from his debut studio album Omo Baba Olowo, 2012, which was followed by six more singles—”Back When,” “Ekuro,” “Overseas,” “All of You,” and “Gbon Gbon.”

Sharing pictures from his visit, Tunji-Ojo took to his X handle on Friday to express delight in hosting the musician.
He wrote: “I welcomed renowned afrobeat artiste David Adeleke, widely recognised as #davido, yesterday.
“Davido, through his music, has continued to exemplify Nigeria’s cultural richness and talent on the global stage, and we are proud of him.”
