KAFTAN TV appoints new CEO, set for rebirth

The Management of KAFTAN TV has announced the appointment of Mr. Abdulwaheed Odusile as its new Chief Executive Officer.

The appointment of Mr. Odusile comes at a time the establishment is going through  turbulence on account of staff agitation for unpaid salaries and structured service condition.

A statement by the Head of Human Resource, Oluwajuwonlo Janet Akinwale disclosed that the new CEO is granted full autonomy to raise a new management team and reorganize the company in
a way that satisfies his professional needs.

With a wealth of experience in print and broadcast media spanning over four decades, Odusile brings a unique blend of vision and execution to the KAFTAN TV team.

“As CEO, Mr. Odusile will head the new management team and assume full responsibility for Corporate Performance, Profitability Strategy and Company’s Growth.

“The appointment takes effect from 11th March, 2024,” the statement read.

Mr. Odusile until recently served as the Ogun State Commissioner for Information and Strategy from 2020 – 2023.

He holds a masters degree in Legal Studies and belongs to a number of professional associations.

He previously served as President of the Nigerian Union of Journalists from 2015 – 2018 and from 2016 – 2019, Mr. Odusile headed the leadership of the Federation of African Journalists.

A renowned journalist and accomplished manager, the new KAFTAN TV CEO has equally held various newsroom management positions, including being the pioneer Editor of National Life Newspaper and Managing Editor of The Nation. He was also at different times on the staff list of National Concord and ThisDay Newspapers.

In addition, Odusile has many publications to his name which include
Media Ethics and Promotion of Democratic Culture in Nigeria,” “The Media, Socio-Cultural and Political Integration”, among many others.

The media mogul holds a Masters Degree in Legal Studies and belongs to a number of professional associations.

The media organization expressed confidence that assuming this role, Mr. Odusile, an outstanding journalist and a good resource manager will undoubtedly help KAFTAN TV in taking its pride of place in the Nigerian media space.
