Nigeria’s Super Eagles, who clinched the silver medal at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations which ended on Sunday in Cote d’Ivoire, are at the presidential villa to meet with President Bola Tinubu.
The entire team, including players and officials, arrived in the country early Tuesday following a strong performance in the tournament.
Tinubu is presently hosting Nigeria’s national football team, the Super Eagles, at the Council Chambers of the State House.
President Bola Tinubu also conferred the national honour of Member of the Order of the Niger, MON, on every member of the Super Eagles that participated at the just concluded AFCON.
This meeting follows closely on the heels of their recent match against the host nation, Côte d’Ivoire, in the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations finals, where they fell short in their bid to win the trophy.
President Tinubu has been consistent in his praise for the team’s performance in Cote d’Ivoire.
