GIG, ABC passengers regain freedom from kidnappers

No fewer than  14 travelers who were kidnapped by gunmen at Inele Eteke in Olamaboro Local Government Area of Kogi State have been freed. 

The Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer, SP William Ovye, made this known in a chat with the journalists on Thursday evening.

“I have just been informed by the DPO that, all the kidnapped victims of God is Good Motors, GIG and ABC have regained their freedom,” he said.

Recall that the armed bandits hijacked two buses belonging to GIG and ABC transport companies and whisked away about 14 passengers to an unknown destination.

God is Good Motors was with 12 passengers, while ABC was with two passengers.

The abductors of the 14 passengers of Abuja-bound buses had contacted the families of the victims, demanding N15 million as ransom.

It is currently unclear if the ransom was paid before the release of the abductees.
