Maryanne Trump Barry, former President Donald Trump‘s older sister and a former federal judge, passed away at the age of 86.
Donald Trump Jr., the former president’s son, confirmed her death while speaking to reporters outside a Manhattan courthouse, where he was testifying in his father’s civil fraud trial.

Trump Barry was found unconscious and unresponsive at her Manhattan home, and her death was confirmed by the New York City Police Department. An investigation into the circumstances of her death was ongoing.
Appointed by President Ronald Reagan in 1983, Trump Barry served as a judge in New Jersey’s U.S. District Court and later became a federal appeals court judge. She retired from the bench in 2019.
The spokesperson for former President Trump was not immediately available for comment.
