The Senate has on Thursday passed the N2.17 trillion 2023 Supplementary Appropriation Bill, recently sent to it by President Bola Tinubu.
The bill was passed after the report on the harmonized sittings of both the Senate and the House of Representatives was adopted.
Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations, submitted the report.
Recall that President Tinubu’s administration on Tuesday submitted N2.1 trillion budget to the National Assembly after the Federal Executive Council approval on Monday.
The Wage Award for Civil Servants, N605 billion for National Security and Defense, N300 billion for bridge maintenance, particularly the Eko bridge, N400 billion for cash transfers to households in need, N200 billion for seed and agricultural inputs and equipment, and N18 billion for the Independent National Electoral Commission to hold off-season elections are some of the budget’s major components.
