Musa Aliyu has been confirmed as the substantive chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission by the Senate.
His confirmation came after a screening exercise in the plenary on Thursday.
The screening began around 11:50 a.m., when the leader, Bamidele Opeyemi, issued a point order suspending relevant Senate rules to allow strangers into the chamber.
Aliyu, a lawyer and Jigawa State Attorney-General, was screened at the Committee of the Whole, which was chaired by the Deputy President, Jibirin Barau.
On Wednesday, President Bola Tinubu requested confirmation of Aliyu as chairman of the agency in a letter to the Senate.
