Bandits set Kaduna Catholic Parish residence ablaze, kill seminarian

Bandits in the late hours of Thursday reportedly invaded St. Raphael Parish in Fadan Kamantan, Kafancha Diocese of Kaduna State and burnt down the parish house alongside a seminarian, Na’aman Danlami.

It was gathered that after the attackers invaded the parish house, some of the priests escaped while Danlamil, who was serving as a Seminarian at the church, was caught by the fire.

The Parish in Kamantan is under the Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan, Jema’a Local Government Area.

Sources disclosed that the attackers stormed the parish house at about 8:00 p.m. and set it ablaze alongside a vehicle.

It was also gathered that the deceased seminarian, Stephen Naman died from the smoke he inhaled while trying to escape from the grasp of the attackers.

When contacted, the Kaduna State Police Command Acting Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansir Alhassan confirmed the incident.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at the mortuary, Alhassan said.
