President Bola Tinubu on Friday terminated the appointment of the Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure, NASENI, Dr. Bashir Gwandu barely four months after his appointment.
The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale in a statement, disclosed that the President named Khalil Halilu who will serve for an initial term of five years in accordance with the relevant sections of the NASENI Act, 2014.
“Halilu, 32, is expected to bring his significant experience as an innovator and technology expert to bear in this important new national assignment, Ngelale said.
Gwandu officially resumed office at the NASENI Headquarters, Abuja, on Monday May 22 after his appointment by former President Muhammadu Buhari.
Gwandu’s appointment, conveyed in a letter dated 19th May, from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation Ref; no SGF.51/S.4/T/93 addressed to Gwandu followed the expiration of 10-year tenure of five years each by the former EVC/CEO of the agency, Prof. Mohammed Sani Haruna in April 2023.
