Meghan Markle’s podcast coy faces obstacle

The production company of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Archewell Audio, has now decided to “mutually” part ways with Spotify.

The 2020 partnership, acclaimed as a “multi-year partnership” and worth $25 million, has ended abruptly.

As reported by variety, Spotify expected more content from the three-year-long deal. Archewell and Spotify jointly released only two programs. One was Serena Williams-featured Archetypes podcast in 2022 and another was a 30-minute holiday special in 2020.

Markle’s podcast, Archetypes, was launched in August of last year, so the abrupt ending even before the first anniversary of the podcast is surely a setback for the Royal Couple.

Notably, Archetypes is being produced under Archewell Audio, an audio production founded by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. However, if reports are true, this audio production has put the infamous podcast on a halt.

On the very same podcast, Serena openly discussed her personal issues like grueling injuries, motherhood and so on. And this very episode may not be available anymore.

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex is an American member of the British royal family and former actress. She is married to Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, and the younger son of King Charles III.

Meghan was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Her acting career began at Northwestern University, while Serena Williams is an American tennis player who revolutionized women’s tennis with her powerful style of play and who won more Grand Slam singles titles (23) than any other woman or man during the open era.

The friendship between Meghan Markle and Serena Williams is a secret to none. Particularly, Serena stood by her friend Markle when she was criticized following her Oprah Winfrey interview. She provided rock-solid support to Markle at the time.

And when the Duchess of Sussex is trying her luck with a new venture, she invited none other than her friend Serena as the first guest of her Spotify podcast, Archetypes.

At one time, it even topped the Spotify charts in seven countries. This podcast holds a lot of value for the friendship of the two loved personalities.

The two have known each other for more than a decade. During their decade-long friendship, the two have always been able to rely on each other. So, when Williams got the opportunity, she happily took the mic to show the bond she shared with Markle.

In a podcast last year, Williams confessed that being on the Archetypes never felt like work to her In fact, she delightedly share the wonderful conversation the two had with their fans. Williams also talked about the conventional duties that society expects women to carry out when they are ambitious.

Now, as the partnership of Archewell ends with Spotify, the future of Archetypes remains in doubt. Will it be back on some other platform or will it vanish completely?
