Bayelsa State Governor has cried foul alleging that Saturday’s governorship election in the state was marred by thuggery and hijacking of electoral materials and personnel in some polling units in the state.

“I call on the Chairman of INEC to issue an order cancelling the process in all the wards, in all the local government areas affected, in all the wards and units, where materials have been stolen or hijacked, where officials have been kidnapped and held hostage to enable the APC cook up non-existing figure,” said the governor.

He specifically accused pipeline surveillance contractors, Gabriel Jonah and one Kodijo Sam as perpetrators of the irregularities in the election that took place at Nembe Local Government.

The Governor further said that the thugs and some Nigerian Army officials connived to commit electoral fraud in some parts of Southern Ijaw, Ekeremor, Ogbia and the state capital, Yenogoa.
