Zainab Habib Aliyu, who escaped the hangman’s noose after she was found innocent of alleged drug trafficking into Saudi Arabia, has urged the Federal Government to intervene in securing Leah Sharibu’s release.Leah, who turned 16 last Tuesday, was among girls abducted by Boko Haram terrorists from a girls school in Dapchi, Borno State on February 19, 2018.

Zainab, has sympathize with Leah Sharibu, one amongst the abducted Chibok Girls who is yet in Boko Haram’s captivity for more than 400 days and urged the Federal Government to secure her release to make her own freedom memorable.

“The message I have for the government is that, they should try their best to intervene in her case as they showed care and love to me by intervening in my case with the Saudi authorities” Zainab said in an exclusive interview with CREDIBLE NEWS.

Meanwhile, Zainab has distanced herself from any trip to Saudi Arabia in the near future.

After spending 124 days in Saudi prison for a crime which she didn’t commit, Zainab has expressed unwillingness to go back to Saudi Arabia for another lesser Hajj.

She was asked if she would be willing to go back to the Arab Kingdom for another lesser Hajj.  “I don’t think so”, she responded and added that being incercerated for a crime she didn’t commit is a pain which cannot be expressed. However, she has advice the Saudi authority to be painstaking in investigating such cases in order to avoid punishing innocent people for a crime which they didn’t commit .

Zainab hoped that, the perpetrators of such ungodly act ( planting illegal substances in traveller’s luggage) would be punished according to law.

“I want to thank President, Muhammad Buhari for intervening in my case. I also thank the Students Union Government of Yusuf Maitama Sule; the civil servants that were engaged on my case in order to secured my freedom as well as the entire students of Kano and Kano State Government” she said.In December 2018, Zainab Habib Aliyu was arrested at Jeddah Airport after departing from Mallam Aminu Kano Airport in Kano for alleged drug trafficking. After a thorough investigation it was found  that airport officials planted the illegal  substance in her luggage. P
