*Rescues kidnap victims, rolls out new counter kidnapping strategy

The Nigerian Police Force is counting its gains against crime fighting. The force has reeled out recent feat of ‘Operation Puff Adder’ which rescued 27 kidnap victims including five Chinese nationals, while arrresting 270 suspected kidnappers.
Force spokesman, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Frank Mba disclosed that two of the kidnappers died from injuries sustained during the exchange of gunfire with the Police. He said twenty-two other kidnap victims were rescued in Zamfara State and other parts of the country, adding that, between January 2019 and the first week of May, no fewer than 275 suspected armed robbers were arrested and 105 assorted weapons plus a large cache of ammunition recovered.
Mba said the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu has rolled out new counter-kidnapping operational strategies, which are intelligence-driven and targeted at identifying, locating and dismantling kidnapping gangs across the nation and bringing the kidnappers and their collaborators to justice.
