A two-storey building on Kakawa Street on Lagos Island has collapsed. No one was reportedly trapped.
This is the third building to collapse in the area within two weeks.
On March 13, a three-storey building collapsed in Ita-Faaji area, killing 20 persons including children. Five days later, another building caved in at Egerton Square, Oke-Arin, still on Lagos Island.
The member representing Lagos Island constituency II at the House of Assembly, Sola Giwa, who confirmed the latest incident to journalists, said there was no casualty.
“I am presently at the scene of another building collapse this afternoon at 50b Kakawa Street, Lagos Island. Thank God there was no casualty. The house itself had been earmarked for demolition. Government will do all within the law to forestall this ugly situation.,’’ he promised.
