Six years after his demise, Ondo State’s fourth civilian governor, Dr. Olusegun Agagu is set for immortality by his people. State governor, Mr. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has said the Ondo State University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa will be named after him.
Akeredolu gave the hint Wednesday during a thank-you visit to Okitipupa Local Government Area and other parts of the state for their support .
Governor Akeredolu, while addressing the traditional rulers, chiefs and party members, said his administration would make determined effort to name the institution after the former governor.
He asked the people to appeal to the newly elected members of the state House of Assembly to hasten the legislative processes necessary for the change of name.
The governor revealed that on assumption of office, he was not pleased with the way the university was abandoned, recalling that OSUSTECH was established by late Agagu in 2008.
Dr Olusegun Kokumo Agagu who governed from 2003 to 2009 died on September 13, 2013 in Lagos.
