The Presidential Steering Committee,PSC on COVID-19 has declared additional 132 persons wanted for violating the quarantine provisions of the COVID-19 guidelines.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation and Chairman of PSC Boss Mustapha issued the second black list last night. Ninety names of Nigerians and Indians appeared on the first list.
Unlike the Sunday list which contained 63 Nigerians and 27 foreigners; the Thursday second batch list of 132 persons comprising 75 males and 57 females were all Nigerians, as they were bearing Nigerian Passports and all arrived in Nigeria through the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
Mustapha recalled that the PSC on COVID-19 on May 1, 2021 issued a travel advisory for passengers arriving in Nigeria from Brazil, India and Turkey.
The precautionary measures were a necessary step to mitigate the risk of importation of variants of concern and break the chain of transmission to the country’s population, he explained.
